He/She must have been a resident of South Africa for at least 15 years

His/Her Annual Income should not be more than R86,280 If Single or R172,560 if married.
He/She must not be employed or self-employed
His/Her Total Assets should not be more than R1,227,600 if Single or R2,455,200 if married.
A person should not be in care by the State.

Documents Required for SASSA Old Age Pension

You must have proof of your marital status
You must have to provide your proper residential address
You must have to provide all proofs of your income and dividends that you have received

Your bank statement for the previous 3 Months
Your Employment certificate or Discharge certificate from your previous Employer.

You will be required to submit your spouse’s death certificate if he/she dieted in the last 5 years.
Your 13-Digit Bar Coded Original Identity Card. If you don’t have an original ID card then fill out a form and have it signed by someone like a councilor or social worker who can confirm your name and age.
Complete an affidavit, which is a special form that you sign in front of someone called a Commissioner of Oaths. This person can’t be a SASSA official.
What to do if SASSA OLD AGE PENSION Rejected
It is quite possible that SASSA will not approve your old-age pension application, but you will be informed about the reason why your application is rejected.
If you agree with the decision made by the SASSA then you will have to resubmit the document but in case you disagree with the SASSA then Law allows you to Appeal to the minister of social development. You can appeal within the time period of 90 days of the rejection of your application.
